I made this two weeks ago waiting for the contest. ”Chloe’s dream” is my entry this year. In my ”music story” Chloe finally found out that what the teacher said, no longer bothered her.
Steingraeber Bright.
Enjoy!

I applaude for you.
Beautiful entry.

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2019 - ENTRIES

Interesting... It gave a nice touch of silent film, with the piano music and the intertitles telling a story.

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2019 - ENTRIES

Thank you all so much. Your kind words warmed my heart.

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2019 - ENTRIES

Hello everyone! I uploaded a composition of mine for the contest, a ballad I composed for my sister... The title is "Buttefly" and represents the flight and the movement of this beautiful creature, which is the "symbol" of my sister too! I use Steinway D and some Omnisphere pads. I am self taught so do not expect the highest skill, but I think it will satisfy you as an idea

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2019 - ENTRIES

Beautiful piece. Don’t apologize for your skills, they’re fine. Playing with emotion and simplicity is frequently better than playing like a technically perfect show-off.

Kawai ES110, Pianoteq 7 Standard, Electric pianos, Steinway B and D, Bechstein, Bluethner, K2, U-Phoria UMC204HD, Sony MDR-7506

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2019 - ENTRIES

Hi All,

I'm a long time Pianoteq forum reader, not so much Pianoteq user (<1 year), but since I started, I just cannot be satisfied by any DP or other VST sound. When I've read about the contest, I was planning to record something solo piano at first, but.. yesterday my friend from high school years visited me and because we used to play and sing together 10 years ago (haven't seen each other from then), we recorded this. I hope it shows Pianoteq is also good for accompanying the singer, not only solo piano.

There are some minor mistakes, but it was a quick thing, so there was no time to polish things

I'm using Pianoteq Stage 6.5.4, Steingraeber Warm preset, with dynamics increased to 47 and condition slider at 0.4.

Hello everyone (kia ora!)

Here's my piano cover using Pianoteq 6 Stage (YC5 Solo Recording, modified). The song was composed by musician Yuki Kajiura and was included in an anime soundtrack album on October 31, 1996. Hope you would enjoy this video

I like this, very nice! A sad song and it’s hard not to be affected by this pop standard. Nice to hear good Ptq sound and good singer. With my speakers it’s like the singer is in front of me and piano a bit behind. Good recording. Thank you!

Here is my entry.  Excerpts of a mockup of Prokofiev Piano Concerto in C.
The piano is Pianoteq (of course).  All other instruments are from the Vienna Symphonic Library.

Beethoven Piano Sonata No.14 in C sharp minor (Op.27 No.2) "Moonlight" Sonata quasi una Fantasia

I am a Pianoteq user since May 2018.
Using Sonar2XL as the DAW software released in 2002 (not Sonar X2) ,installed on Windows 10, I have just created a midi file of Moonlight Sonata of Beethoven while listening to the sounds of Pianoteq 6. I am sorry for my disability to play real keyboards. The video is the result of a perfect combination of old and new software.

Made with love and gloves. Bluthner chamber recording, with some reverb to counteract the tent.

Own arrangement of course!

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2019 - ENTRIES

How about own compositions and improvisations using for this contest. Are they permitted even if are not registered anywhere?
Which is minimum length of piano piece?
I am asking about, because my compositions as far are quite short, roughly 2 minutes.

Absolutely, not a problem.

RichieBill wrote:

You do know who else's compositions were around 2mins? The Beatles (well, the 60s era) - I love short form works, no matter the era or music type, and enjoy entering into these most ephemeral of worlds. That feeling of wanting more? Love it.

RichieBill wrote:

Also, yes. Self publishing is pretty standard.

'Published' refers to when the original video is uploaded to Youtube in this context (none before 25 Sept. 2019 for this comp.). There's no requirement to be signed with or released in some more official capacity than that, through a music publisher or performing rights body. etc.- although, that's something you might do as an artist as well of course).

Enjoy the process!

My own advice for new entrants looking for the best chance at a win, is of course to be sure to double-check the rules.

Pasted here for convenience from the main instructions page:

  • Only one entry per contestant is allowed.

  • The video needs to be new, not published before September 25, 2019.

  • It needs to be clear on your video that you are using Pianoteq 6, either by showing the interface, talking about Pianoteq 6 or displaying Pianoteq 6 in text.

  • You are allowed to use other instruments or voices alongside Pianoteq if you want.

  • Deadline for participation is October 31, 2019, 23:59 CET (Central European Time).

love watching all these entries.  here's mine, the jazz standard April In Paris, in honor of the French origins of Pianoteq.  sorry for the generic video idea, it's my first time trying anything like this.  i can't heap enough praise on Pianoteq, and can't wait for future versions/improvements/new instruments ...

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2019 - ENTRIES

It has been most inspiring to view all the fine videos and I wish everyone the best of luck.
After 2 years of experience with Pianoteq 6 in combination with my MIDI guitar, I decided to use it for my upcoming concerts as a "real" piano to accompany my vocals - so I recorded a piano/vocal rendition of the song "The Place where the lost Things go".

I hope you enjoy it.
Kind regards,
Eddie
