Topic: Older Versions

Hi Modartt Team !

I have to re-open, because it will be produced for a TV Show (needs re-edit, cut, mix, etc...), an old project made in 2010 with this year's Pianoteq Version (Mac OS X). As the Support area says in the Download section, "Previous versions are still available, in case you encounter any problem with the latest version, click here", but I can't find any older version than the 4.5.5 (here it seems like I would need the v3...).

My main problem is mainly that I built specific sounds with this project... and did not save these as preset files, so that I cannot just change my plugin version in the project and just re-open the (previously not saved) presets...

I would just need to reinstall the V3 (2010 was not yet V2 I think), just to reopen, save my presets, and then go to the V5 version...

Any idea, are these older dmg somewhere ?

Best regards,
EG

Re: Older Versions

I have 4.2.1 through 5.2.1 versions for WINDOZE and for Linux, no Mac versions though.
I also have my original Version 2.1 - - I don't know if that would install to a mac or not.
BTW, I re-installed 2.1 recently and although this may sound like heresy, through crummy laptop speakers it isn't THAT MUCH worse than 5.2
Sure, it doesn't have all the bells, whistles and "features" but at the same time it is SUCH a lightweight that it runs on a little Eee-PC without over loading.

Re: Older Versions

Just wondering, where do you get those really old versions? In the user area, "previous versions" just has 4.5....

/* edit */ also did 3.x and 2.x run on Linux?

Re: Older Versions

As far as I can see, we can only go back to v4.0 at earliest. Modartt doesn't seem to have older versions on the server, so I assume you would have to contact them directly about those. Here's how you access those versions that are available:

https://www.pianoteq.com/download?file=pianoteq_setup_v455.exe

Change the version number (for 4.0 you'd type v400 there), change the extension (.dmg for OSX, .7z for Linux).

Re: Older Versions

My V2.1 documentation has instructions for installing on Windows XP and Mac, but makes no mention of Linux.
Probably not worth running with WINE, other than as an exercise to see if it WOULD run.

For anyone who REALLY NEEDS V3 or V2 the options appear to be to contact Modartt directly or to find an old stock retail copy - hopefully heavily discounted

Re: Older Versions

The v3 is still here:

Re: Older Versions

Thanks Julien,
I want to just play around with these to see what the most recent version is that will run on my little Eee-PC.
I know it is a MODEST little notebook, but for my level of practice even V2.1 seems to run OK.

Re: Older Versions

Thanks from me as well!

...but version 3 says "activation needed" even though v4 and v5 work well with my activation code.

Re: Older Versions

I heard that the purchaser's User's Area would have downloads for version 4 and 5 but I don't see anything except version 6.2.1.

I would like to download version 4 for my old Windows XP computer. But when I use of any the links on this page (e.g. https://www.pianoteq.com/download?file=...p_v455.exe) I get an error: "You are not allowed to access this content: pianoteq_setup_v455.exe".

This error happens even when I am logged in as a new registered purchaser of Pianoteq 6. Please explain how to do this. Thanks.

Re: Older Versions

Contact Modartt support?

Hard work and guts!

Re: Older Versions

Yes - Support was very helpful. Since I bought the Stage version of v6, the site detected that should download the old Stage or Play versions (the other links above are for standard versions). So the appropriate links are:

Stage 5.8.1 (Win):

https://www.pianoteq.com/download?file=pianoteq_stage_setup_v581.exe

Stage 5.8.1 (Linux):

https://www.pianoteq.com/download?file=pianoteq_stage_linux_v581.7z

Stage 4.5.5 (Win):

https://www.pianoteq.com/download?file=pianoteq_stage_setup_v455.exe

Stage 4.5.5 (Linux):

https://www.pianoteq.com/download?file=pianoteq_stage_linux_v455.7z

Play 3.6.8 (Win):

https://www.pianoteq.com/download?file=pianoteq_play_setup_v368_x32.exe

Play 3.6.8 (Linux):

https://www.pianoteq.com/download?file=pianoteq_play_linux_v368_x32.zip

Thanks.

Re: Older Versions

Thank you for this topic, i need v3.6.8 64bit, and here is it :

https://www.pianoteq.com/download?file=...68_x64.exe

i should need the v2.3.0 in 64 bit version but i don't konw if it was available.

and i should need for a small update for the v1.0.4 about the authorization dialog to be offline, if this was possible to re-edit this ancien first version.
Because of cubase projects, we still need ancients versions of VSTi to be time stable.

Ondist and Thereminist concertist and composer
Ondes Martenot, Ondéa, Thérémin, player, composer
Messiaen's Turangalîla-Symphony in Cubase with 10 VSTi (including 4 instances of Pianoteq)

This sounds interesting.
Are the older versions really able to provide better performance on slower machines?
Unfortunately, trial installers are not available for such versions.

Sincerely.
