Topic: Need a little more slack . . .

PTeq 5.8 has started to tax the CPU of my 'puter.  Not sure why, maybe the int sample rate got changed or something.
I'd love suggestions on how to eliminate the occasional popping I now get particularly on using the loud pedal.  here are my settings.

Performance

int sample rate 48000  Hz (optimum value, or at least I'm told this)
Host . . . . . . . .96000 Hz
buffer size       128 samples
polyphony       256 samples

Device

Audio buffer   128 samples
Sample size   96000 Hz
Equaliser Punchy with bass heightened.

Performance index 30

Computer Acer Aspire 5920, 1.83 GHz, 2 Ram, 120GB hard drive.
It appears to perform to specification.

All suggestions most welcome! thank you, guys.

I'm playing all the right notes but not necessarily in the right order

Re: Need a little more slack . . .

Those performance specs are way too ambitious for your laptop.
Maybe this could help: http://www.forum-pianoteq.com/viewtopic.php?pid=952412

3/2 = 5

Re: Need a little more slack . . .

Don't use 96k sample rate in your host. Bring that down to 48k and you should see CPU going down, perhaps even considerably.

Hard work and guts!

Re: Need a little more slack . . .

Much obliged, guys.  There's plenty to dive into here.  Thanks!
