Topic: ! 5.1 Pianoteq with modified 5.1 speaker placement !

Roland makes a Modeled - no samples - digital piano model LX17 with a fancy four amp and eight speaker system:

I've not heard one but it has rave reviews on the sound system with its accurate sound placement of the various melodious noises a piano makes.

What if Pianoteq added a feature that used a modified 5.1 surround system with the left, center and right speakers in their normal place, the bass speaker anywhere and the rear surround speakers repurposed to being placed at the left and right of the piano nearly touching the instrument?

Standard 5.1 processing wouldn't work. the rear speakers moved to the front would have to sound like the innards of the piano.
While standard processing wouldn't work Standard Off The Shelf 5.1 speakers could do the job with the different location of the surround speakers.
Pianoteq could have some set-up test sounds to make sure the right balance was achieved.

If Pianoteq would give this a try, this small step in processing could bring about a Giant Leap for Pianokind!!

This is already possible since Pianoteq Standard and Pro allow positioning up to 5 microphones and sending them to separate outputs. Then all you need is to process those outputs and filter out LFE and send that to a subwoofer...

Hard work and guts!
