I don't know if this qualifies completely, but this is my entry. If it needs to be in an annotation or something I can add that if I need to make it count. ^^

This is a piano remix of The Last Of Us's main theme, using a combination of Pianoteq's D4 Intimate piano and also K1 Ambient. I've also included some more ambient effects using reversed pianos as well. Hope you guys like it! :3

Hi!

Here's my post, using Pianoteq 4 with Bluthner add-on, on a custom digital piano which I built, starting from a comercial unit with a Fatar keybed, using HP computers (one for Cantabile, running Pianoteq, the other running Cubase for backtracks and for triggering video sequences and lights programs), both with touch screen monitors.
I hope you like it!

Hello, very nice musics but I'm sorry, I'm not sure it's Pianoteq D4 in the videos, I do not see it.

Very nice song and interesting information but I'm sorry to disappoint you by telling that the video does not live up to the contest rules (it is published before Oct 15th and there is nothing in your video that tells that you are using Pianoteq 4). Feel free to publish a new video that lives up to these requirements in case interested in participating in the contest.

Nice piano remix indeed, but... as you suspect, it does not qualify since there is just one image displayed and no animation at all, and there is no information in the video that you are using Pianoteq 4.

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

Here's a clip with one of my young students (17) in my music school.
We've decided to record this one today.
It's her own rendition containing several songs by Einaudi Ludovico.

As you can see, this entire recording is "live on tape"/no overdubs

We've chosen the fabulous model "D4"

Hope you like it.

Cheers

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

Quite a historic moment here.

The first time we see on internet a female gender human being playing pianoteq.

Nice performance by the way, like you taught her very well.

Robert, it would be nice if one student also presented pianoteq features, talk a bit about it.

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

Hello!

I got inspired with the modified Pianoteq 4D sound, that I got  somewhat soft . But, it is always about personal taste. What do you want – thin or warm? Much reverb? Depend on what you are looking for. And what kind of loadspeakers you use. For me it is a joy to use Pianoteq in this way this time. I am charmed, although I dont find myself a pianist, more as a newbie with chords. Some pianovirtuosos can play difficult music, and I, old retired man, can not compete with them. So I chose the opposite, and played a simple, old, nice swedish melody and chords, ”Vem kan segla” – anyway, it´s all about Pianoteq sound now. In the 3 short  simple variations of the melody, I try to express my inner thougts and happy feelings – and hear the waves at Gulf of Bothnia. Thanks to Pianoteq sound, I forget time and space and enjoy and enjoy....
It is fantastic to edit, store and listen to a Steinway D concert grand in the corner of my small room.  But,there is one more thing,as Steve Jobs used to say –  I think that the people behind Pianoteq really understand how important music is for man. Thank you,Modartt!

Nice little tune! I see you're using a M-audio 88es, anyway it says so in the preset name ...how do you like yours? I have one of those (which i modified) but i haven't played it in a while.

Hi!

This is a video of my rendition of David Nevue's "Dark Afternoon" from his new album "Open Sky". I used Pianoteq 4's Grand YC5 tweaked to my liking. Pianoteq is amazing software for recording and performance.  Thank you for your consideration.     Shawn

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

Nice use of B&W.

But if you allow me to say, I believe your vídeo would be even better if you try a slower version.
This is a sad music (intented to be originally) and need to be played slow with depth and soul, and perhaps a bit of passion.
Think in a very sad moment you remamber and try to let it translate to the performance.

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

Here is my entry.  Three short pieces using multiple instances of Pianoteq 4.5 Standard.  The first song is O, Holy Night, done with the D4, Cimbalon and Vibes. Next is "Puff the Magic Dragon" done with just about all the Steel Pan models, Addictive Drums and OrangeTree Cherry Bass.  The last piece is "A Closer Walk" done with an "age modeled" D4 and a Honky Tonk U4 in a piano roll style.  I don't have the piano chops to pull off some of the amazing classic piano pieces that I've heard on other Pianoteq demos...so I tried to be different!

Chops or no Chops Mr. Studiocat . .  your playing is just fine and the arrangements were not just thrown together.

You have a marketable style.

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

Hello,

My request is to the Pianoteq team:

If I publish on YouTube a movie trailer with my original soundtrack performed on Pianoteq AND display this (along with the info on the preset used) in accompanying text, will I meet the Contest rules?

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

I believe the text needs to be encoded as image in the video. Just adding annotations or a description doesn't count, if i understand correctly.

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

I believe the importance of the pianoteq contest is to help presenting pianoteq, divulgate on youtube.  That's why I believe it's importante to talk about pianoteq and presente it's features and models in the vídeos.

That's my humble suggestion to the participants.

As Delt and Beto-Music pointed out, you need to include that information in the video itself.

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

My submission, an original song called Lonely Life, performed by my band Mu-Theory

http://youtu.be/9yZeuFKVJQc

The original video is very hi-res and if you like it enough to join our mailing list I will make it available for download on request.

Lonely Life was written by Ian & Tony from Mu-Theory and released on Mu-Theory's first studio album "Until We Lose It". In that release (see http://mutheory.bandcamp.com) the piano part was played on a Yamaha 7' studio grand piano and all parts were recorded in a pro studio. In this version the piano is played on a keyboard but the sounds are produced using the Pianoteq software by Modarrt. The main piano part uses Pianoteq D4 Classical BA  and the piano solo feature the historical Graf with the Rhody R2 Basic in the rock section. Drums, vocals, guitar and bass were recorded in a home studio with accompanying video and the piano parts added later. The audio track was mixed in Cubase and the video produced using Final Cut Pro X.

This version differs from the original in a few other ways, the bass player (Ivan) from the original is no longer with us and our current bass player (Pat) learned the song on short notice for the recording. As this is a piano video contest the focus is more on piano and guitar only appears in the middle section. A small cello section part was added using a sample library. Otherwise, the band actually played along with the original recording so form and length are unchanged.

Mu-Theory are:
Tony Brewin - vocals
Ian Rutherford - keyboards
Stuart Naylor - drums
Chris Birchall - guitar
Pat Ferdinands - Bass

find us at www.mu-theory.com or www.facebook.com/mutheory

I hope you enjoy the music and the Pianoteq sound.

Regards,
Ian

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

Awesome playing! Kind of high velocity values tho, it makes the overall sound a bit artificial (and LOUD!!)

I'm trying to edit my (beginner-ish) video footage into something decent, but my computer is not powerful enough for video editing

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

Hello to everyone on the forum.  My submission for the contest is the 1st Movement of Piano Sonata No. 21 in C Major, Op. 53 "Waldstein," by Ludwig van Beethoven.  My video is located at:

http://youtu.be/1wlMPZppyls

I have been working on this Sonata for quite a while.  I actually used an Internet downloaded Midi recording of this piece to evaluate the Pianoteq software several years ago when I was deciding if I wanted to purchase it.  Beethoven is my favorite composer and this is one of his many Sonatas that I like.  In addition to using Pianoteq, I recorded the video using the KXStudio repository of tools for Ubuntu Studio.  I am quite amazed and impressed with the quality of the various tools available for making and recording music.  This is the first video I have ever published on YouTube.  I hope you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed making it.

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

Hi folks,

since Pianoteq is one of my all-time-favourites when it comes to software instruments, I thought this is a good chance to go public about it :

http://youtu.be/_HhGRDVojFU

Even though a real piano will always have it's physical advantage over a simulation, there are also features of the virtual counterpart, which hardly can be matched by the wood and steel instrument. One of these bonuses is presented in this video about the making of the center part of the song 'seek sense' by me and zymondee.

Cheers,
badtidude

Hello all,

Here is my entry.  Hope you enjoy it!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sROkY5X5...e=youtu.be

To me, in some important aspects Pianoteq approaches an ideal piano closer to that of an acoustic piano.  Playing solo piano with Pianoteq is so satisfying that it is easy to lose myself in the music.  Thanks Pianoteq!

Roger

Here's my very humble entry, it's my favourite piano song ever "One man's dream" by Yanni.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3H9tdsVfs2k

I'm using the D4 and Blüthner layered together, with slightly harder hammers than the default, and a bit more soundboard impedance on the D4. The synth sound is produced by the excellent open-source program Zynaddsubfx. Video edited with Cinelerra.

Hello everyone,

I wanted to contribute with this video recorded acoustically where pianoteq instruments are played with acoustic instruments (a baroque oboe and a modern oboe). There is also a Mozart movement for fortepiano. We used Blanchet harpsichord and Schmidt fortepiano from the KiViR project and the U4 piano.

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

Hi

I've been meaning to make a video about using Pianoteq for ages so this was a good prompter!

I could say a LOT more about how it opens up possibilities for me. I just released a Mozart album using the D4 and have had great feedback about the production quality.

But it's the point I make in the video that is the clincher for me. A piano has got to have a soul to be really exciting to play. And for me, Pianoteq has that magic! I keep it fairy low key as I don't want people to think I'm a nutter (I may be) saying stuff about souls and magic but hopefully the little speech and Chopin's music will get the point across.

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

I know this one's very late, but I thought it would be good to show a Pianoteq's amazing harpsichord model.

This is my own composition - an invention in the style of J. S. Bach. I wrote it in Logic's piano roll and saved to midi then imported into Pianoteq, 'cos just haven't got time now to practice it well enough to do a video - so I've done this screen video of the Pianoteq interface as it plays. You'll see the screen video lags a bit, but hey!

Re: Pianoteq video contest 2013 - entries

Hi Matt - I am a jazz pianist and do not know the inner workings of Bach nor could I ever begin to play his compositions - but as you say "But hey!" - that is really a nice piece and it has interesting progressions with matching arpeggios that appeal to my taste.

a midi file of that would be quite nice to be able to use as a standard demo of the various Modartt keyboards
and . . . also,  I think the recording could benefit if the right and left channels were sounding.  I kept leaning to one side of the bench while listening (not).
