Topic: 64-bit everything

i just converted to Vista 64 and it is a better overall system than Vista 32. Still has some of the same crap, but it performs better. i think Microsoft will be spending much more time on 64-bit from now on and we can expect that most of their development and testing time and future investments will be in 64-bit. Software should be converted to 64-bit ASAP.

Re: 64-bit everything

I was just recently thinking about Pianoteq 64bit. As a techie I can say that in theory 64-bit Pianoteq could bring about 30-80% performance increase on the same CPU (if it supports 64-bit of course).

Nevertheless I'm working on Mac, so I don't care about Vista.. but on Leopard the situation seems to be slightly better as the OS can run both 64-bit and 32-bit applications, so Pianoteq binary could also contain 64-bit version.

What do you think? Have you guys from Modartt tested 64-bit versions for the performance?

Regards.
