Topic: Upper Register "Ringing"

Alright... first things first. Although I was required to take two semesters of study in college, I am not a piano player. We bought Pianoteq to fulfill the need of our clients who come into the studio.

We're noticing some upper end... about 1k or so and higher... "ringing" of overtones. It's worse with lower sampling rates.

Any way to "control" this ringing? It's very annoying after a time but I'm sure it's just the fact that we are new users to the software.

Clients love it, by the way!

Re: Upper Register "Ringing"

Have you tried reducing the Cutoff on the Design panel? Try small increments.
You may also want to experiment with the Q-factor slider below it, increasing it if you want the cut-off to occur at a faster rate.

Try decreasing the resonance... I've noticed that with some presets, if it is set too high then one hears a high-pitched ring during the note release.
