Topic: Forum issue: problem with cookies

Pianoteq's forum is the only one that's giving me this error: I log in, and it says that cookie can't be set. But I'm logged in. And every time I revisit the page, I have to click on Login to see the new posts. So the cookie IS set, but it seems like the forum can't read it, or something like that.

Any ideas what's causing this?

Hard work and guts!

Re: Forum issue: problem with cookies

I had a similar problem with another site a long time ago. I went in and manually deleted the cookie (which was created when I asked to be logged in automatically), rebooted the computer, and then went back to the sign in page and again checked the Log in automatically thing.

Apparently a cookie can get corrupted--that may be why this problem is only arising at this site. It's a problem with the specific cookie instead of a general problem with your system.

I hope this works for you.

You are switching between http://forum-pianoteq.com and http://www.forum-pianoteq.com. The cookie goes to the name you used.

Yup, it's this! I'm using Speed Dial addon for Firefox 3, and I made it go to forum-pianoteq.com instead of www.forum-pianoteq.com, and hence the difference.

Works now, thank you j2002ba2! (what a weird choice for a nickname XD)

Hard work and guts!
