Topic: piano keyboard to laptop via midi.

I have a piano keyboard which generates a MIDI stream.
I have a MIDI to USB hardware converter/translater.
I have an acer TM 4150 laptop. How can I get piano sounds
from the TM 4150 using the MIDI stream from the keyboard?

OR ELSE:

How can I run a conventional sound board as a stand-alone device, feeding it
with +/- 5V & 12 V power and MIDI and hanging a couple of speakers onto its
audio output?

Any suggestions please?
