Topic: Reload

Is there a quick easy procedure to reload Pianoteq 6?  Also I know this is probably a stupid question, but 5 still shows up in my AU instruments.  Am I suppose to get rid of version 5?  Don't know if Pianoteq is the problem or if this is coincidental, but ever since I did the upgrade, the piano will go out of tune halfway through a song.  It doesn't do it all the time.  It seems to like to do it right in the middle of Sunday service.  I am thinking a fresh reload might help but I am unsure on what to get rid of to do a reinstall.  THANKS for any help you may offer!!!!!!

Re: Reload

My experience with AU implementation is that they show up as different plugins. You will need to manually change any projects calling for 5 to call for 6 instead, then save them.

The tuning issue sounds bizarre to me; like your controller may be sending errant pitch bend messages. What software and hardware are you running?

As for reloading, the provided uninstall app should clean it out for a fresh installation...you will of course lose presets unless you grab prefs from your [user]/Library/Application Support/Modartt folder.

Re: Reload

Thanks for the reply Default!  I ran a midi report on the Keylab88 and found no inconsistencies.  I did it for about an hour checking all controls, knobs, everything, and not one error.  I used my MAudio last week and had no problems, however just today using the Maudio board it did it again.  That told me right there that both controllers were fine and somehow it is software related.  Today when it detuned, I replaced the Pianoteq piano with a MainStage piano and it was fine.  Funny too because the other four patches using the Pianoteq were fine. I'm just trying to be CSI with this because the problem happened after the upgrade to Stage 6.  Who knows, maybe it unrelated but man does it make me gun shy to play.  I know the congregation thinks I'm hitting bum notes.  Again I appreciate your help and thoughts.....

Re: Reload

M-Audio keyboards are not really known for their quality...

Hard work and guts!

Re: Reload

Thanks EvilDragon.  I don't use the MAudio very much.  It's just an emergency board.  I was making the point that the detune happened with both boards so I am convinced it is software related and not hardware.  The problem is very frustrating.  I just reloaded 6 last night so we'll see what happens today in service.  Thanks and have a blessed day

Re: Reload

Check the MIDI assignments in Pianoteq and see if anything is assigned to pitch bend. Then verify if those messages do get sent spuriously from your MIDI controller. You should probably remove these MIDI assignments (mainly Pitch Bend and possibly Aftertouch as well).

Hard work and guts!

Re: Reload

Today went off without a problem!  Trying to not be too celebratory yet, but I wonder if the reinstall of 6 worked?  If it acts up again I can at least filter out the controls like you said.  Fingers crossedx.  Thanks for the replies and have a great day

Re: Reload

I had a similar problem with Pianoteq6 in my DAW. The condition slider automatically went to the right. Everything sounded completely drunk. Until I realized that I had loaded the 32bit version. With the 64bit version, everything was fine.

Re: Reload

I don't think 32-bit version was the culprit there, you most likely accidentally MIDI learned the Condition slider to something and then it went off...

Hard work and guts!

Re: Reload

But why with me repeated only with the 32bit version?

Re: Reload

Not sure, it must've been something system specific, because nobody else called in with that same issue, so 32-bit seems to be working great for those who use it...
