Topic: Is it possible to get the missing notes for the period instruments?

I am currently learning to play a piece and found that the Besendorfer piano from the Kremsegg collection to be a perfect fit. However, the piece has some notes in the uppermost octave that is outside of the upper range of the Besendorfer piano (they are kind of "greyed out" there is no sound when those keys are pressed). I know the reason for the absence of these notes is that the original piano being modeled did not contain these notes. But is there any way to get these missing notes to play so that the piece could be played on that piano?

I HAVE already considered using a similar sounding instrument that has all the notes. Of course this is an obvious option, but at the same time a critical  compromise...you know the feeling of finding the perfect instrument ("Ha! This is the one!"), and that cannot easily be replaced by a "similar sounding" instrument!  ("Yeah, it sounds similar, but it does not quite feel the same...")

Any help / ideas will be greatly appreciated!

There's no way to get those notes really, the option to expand the range for some instruments is just not there.

Hard work and guts!

Re: Is it possible to get the missing notes for the period instruments?

It is possible by running two instances of PTQ.
In the second instance for the additional (high) notes, you just have to mute all the other keys (that (should) have sound on the first piano,
This is possible by the "note per note" edit feature, for the volume also available in PTQ Standard (double-click on the volume slider).
You then still have some key release noise, but you can mute that also in the action panel.
I just tried it, very nice idea, by the way, to "mix" two (or possibly even more) instruments by different keyboard ranges.
(this is a feature that many digital pianos have as a "split mode")

By the way, this is also possible, in a way, with acoustic instruments:
