Topic: [AVIRA false positive] PT6 : Trojan Horse /Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 detected

Detected by Avira

Re: [AVIRA false positive] PT6 : Trojan Horse /Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 detected

Scanned in 60 different anti-virus and only Avira detected as TR/Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2.

I think that is a false positive...

Re: [AVIRA false positive] PT6 : Trojan Horse /Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 detected

Yes, probably. It's just a bit surprising.

Avira made me reboot the PC, and now, another PT6 file is considered as a TR : the vst3 file.

Re: [AVIRA false positive] PT6 : Trojan Horse /Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 detected

Yes, every new major version since 2009 has first been marked as Trojan by avira... Antivirus are a bit annoying at time. I have submitted the file on their website as a false positive.

Re: [AVIRA false positive] PT6 : Trojan Horse /Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 detected

Same situation. This should be a false positive (I tested the 64bit and 32bit vst3).
This should be related to the Avira's heuristic engine.

Of course.

Thanks.

Re: [AVIRA false positive] PT6 : Trojan Horse /Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 detected

Avira are dragging their heels sorting out the 'trojan' issue with ptq6. Just installed my upgrade today and still got the alert. There was also a 'suspicious file' warning for msregvv.dll, which I assume is something to do with Pianoteq.

Re: [AVIRA false positive] PT6 : Trojan Horse /Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 detected

Avira is crap.

Hard work and guts!

Re: [AVIRA false positive] PT6 : Trojan Horse /Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 detected

nimm avast free. Damit habe ich keine probleme

Pianoteq 7 Pro with all pianos

Re: [AVIRA false positive] PT6 : Trojan Horse /Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 detected

I have edited the title of the thread to add '[AVIRA false positive]' as, I think, AVIRA is already doing a pretty good job at scaring Pianoteq users :-)

Re: [AVIRA false positive] PT6 : Trojan Horse /Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 detected

I will try Avast. Getting fed up with Avira anyway, always having to manually update it, it's a pain!

Re: [AVIRA false positive] PT6 : Trojan Horse /Crypt.ZPACK.Gen2 detected

Avast isn't much better, honestly. There are only two solutions I would regard as no-headache: ESET and Kaspersky.

Hard work and guts!
