Topic: Fly Me To the Moon
Hi all:
Just got Pianoteq, here's my first recording, rendition of Fly Me To The Moon, using the split jazz bass/keys within Pianoteq, using Studio One 3 Pro with a drum loop. Prior to Pianoteq, I was using my old Yamaha P-200 and the piano module contained within it, dragged through the AudioBox VSL, and into the DAW, but the piano sound did not sound, in the DAW, like it sounded for me through the built in headset jack of the Yamaha. The board is about 12 years old, so I figured it was time to go with putting the piano inside the laptop, and just evove to using the Yamaha as the controller.
Wow, is all I have to say. Also, PIanoteq's philosophy of modelling, over strictly sampling, is making more sense to me in 2017. Back in the day, I always thought of real sound vs. synthesized sound, as being in competition with one another. Now, though, it makes more sense to do away with this argument. We live in a digital age. The music is created, produced, and distributed entirely in digital format. Seems to make sense to come at it from that perspective. The good news is, Pianoteq sounds just as good being reproduced into analog sound, as it does living in bits and bytes.
