Topic: Pianoteq on Asus EEE

I was wondering if anyone has tried running Pianoteq on the ASUS EEE, under XP. The EEE has no Harddisk but fixed 4 GB flash. You can add flash memory. I thought it should be possible from a memory footprint usage (it has 512 MB RAM), but the clock is only 900 MHz.
This would really make pianoteq mobile! The autonomy of the EEE is up to 8 hours. I would use it with a M-Audio fasttrack pro audio/midi interface.

Re: Pianoteq on Asus EEE

I think it's a long shot, because 900 MHz is kind of too slow for realtime modeling (if you like using sustain pedal a lot and play quick passages), at least at 44100 (48000) kHz samplerate. Now, if the CPU was clocked at 2 GHz, I reckon there would be no issues with that, but with this.... I think, unfortunately no. You would have to limit polyphony severely and lower the samplerate, but that also limits usability and sound quality.

Hard work and guts!
